MANIC MONDAY: FROST

It has been a long time since I have done a Manic Monday. Visit Mo to see other Manic Monday participants. I keep meaning to but then I keep forgetting or have something else to talk about. Today I want to talk about this word. Frosty.

There are many things that are frosty; Frosties, Frost, Ice, Windows, Bitches, etc. However, there is one type of frost that surpasses all and that is the sheet of frost on the outside of a proper Jell-O Pudding Pop. Once you have dispatched with the frosty ice sheet the pop will then bend in a luscious and wonderful way. Unfortunately, these pops are no longer available. The Jell-O pops of today are all wrong. They are the wrong shape, the wrong taste, and they have no frosty ice sheet. They are a true disappointment.

However, all is not lost. There is a frosty ice sheet to be had. It exists on a fruit pop instead of a pudding pop but that is ok. It will do. I’m, talking about Breyers all fruit bars. MMMMM delicious. They are also shaped like the pudding pop so that makes them even more perfect. I have eaten the Strawberry flavor so it is really the only one I can completely vouch for but I have a feeling that all flavors will suffice. Under the frosty ice sheet the pops bend in a Jell-O-like way as well. These pops are excellent. They are also incredibly low in calories and sugars. You can’t beat that.

I really want to try the Swirl variety pack. Man those flavors sound fantastic; Blueberry Lemon, Strawberry Blueberry, Strawberry lemon, and Strawberry Orange. Plus, the swirl pudding pop was always my favorite. I feel really sad for Monica because I know how much she loves pudding pops (maybe even more than I do) and most of these flavors have strawberry in them and she can’t eat Strawberry. The rest of you should eat these things. I can’t stand frosty goodness like this disappearing twice.

2. Slippin’ on through the sensors/ Trippin’ over rails and fences/ Slippin’ on through the sensors/ Made of the mist in the abyss.

3. I feel unhappy/ I feel so sad/ I’ve lost the best friend/ That I ever had.

4. I saw her today at the reception/ A glass of wine in her hand. You Can't Always Get What You Want, Rolling Stones. Identified by Phil

Now those look like a good alternative for the grandson. Interesting song with something to say.

It's like you read my mind. I've been looking for pudding pops since my kids were old enough to have them. None to be found. I loved that sheet of ice and the game I played with myself trying to get it off unharmed.

#1 is it, Pale Blue Eyes? Velvet Underground.

#4 You Can't Always Get What You Want, The Rolling Stones.

... And I was so sure that it would be Johnny Yen who would beat me to identifying the Stones song...!

Awww...

Of course you know I adore sugar-free Fudgsicles -- especially when I put a thin, frosty coating of peanut butter on 'em -- but these fruit pops sound rather delicious. Will have to try their frosty goodness real soon, before winter gets here.

I don't know what I was more afraid of-- that someone would beat me to #4, or that no one would get #4. Love "You Can't Always Get..." So does my son. And my dad.

Did you know that Kevin Costner played the dead guy who that song was being played for in "The Big Chill'?

do you remember "Jello Gealtin Pops"? Those were fruity with the right shape and ice sheet. And why not? they were the same era as pudding pops! Remember when the pudding pops came back and i was so excited I bought 3 boxes only to find out they were absolutely 100% WRONG????

THAT'S what was wrong with the fugicles I had the other day. I was thinking of the pudding pops. I was highly disappointed to say the least.

Love #4 but with 8 comments before me I knew at least one person would've gotten it.

I also heard it was his first movie role ever but when I went to confirm that on IMDB a few others came up before it so I guess I heard wrong.

Life has taken me away from blogging for awhile but I'm back. I granted you an award at my new spot.

As always

I'm sad. I had no idea pudding pops were all wrong now. Not that I ever eat them anymore. But now I'm craving them and it's all for naught as they have clearly gone the way of the Dodo.

tegdirb92- I will have to look for them. I am a fan of a good popsicle.

CWM- Most certainly!

Mert- There is nothing better than real fruit!

Jamie- I think the grandson would love them.

Phil- I'm glad you understand. Sometimes I try to convey this horror to people and they just don't get it. 1 is not Pale Blue Eyes but I would love to hear Velvet Underground do a cover of that song. Not that it will ever happen or anything.

Mom- You could even have them in the winter, they are that yummy.

Johnny Yen- Not only did i not know that i have actually never seen "The Big Chill".

Monica- I had forgotten those but now I remember and they were incredibly good. These aren't quite as pudding poplike as those were because obviously it is a different brand but they are incredibly close. Those new pudding pops were such a disappointment. They weren't gross but they weren't great either.

Katrina- Yeah the pudding popis a pop all to itself. I would like to think that if enough people join the wailing bandwagon that they will maybe fix them. I also doubt it. Maybe they lost the recipe.

Danielle- Nice to see you. Welcome back.

Auld Hat- You will never ever have one again. Sorry.
